Juan Carlos González is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Colby College. Before coming to Colby, he earned his PhD in Philosophy from the University of California San Diego, defending a dissertation on Kant’s teleology. He is currently developing research projects on the cross-cultural connections between early 20th-century Mexican and Modern German aesthetics, José Martí’s social philosophy, and Kant’s philosophy of life. At Colby, he teaches courses on the History of Latin American Philosophy, Philosophy of the Americas, the Philosophy of Race, and the History of European Philosophy.

Prof. González has two articles published in the Journal, one in Volume 14, Issue 2 and the other one in Volume 15, Issue 1.
