Tammelleo

Steve Tammelleo is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of San Diego, where he has taught since 2013. His research interests include applied ethics, continental philosophy, Latin American philosophy (particularly ethics and philosophy of race/ethnicity), philosophy of the Americas, and topics such as mental causation, identity, immigration ethics, and consumer social responsibility. He has engaged deeply with Hispanic/Latino/a identity, the ethics of trade and border policies, corporate responsibility for human trafficking, and critiques of normalizing practices in education.

He earned his B.S. from Lewis and Clark College (1997) and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Memphis. Prior to USD, he taught at Lake Forest College in Illinois for eight years.
